Prayer Letter

Dear LTS Friends, Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In 2014 we were inspired to establish the Companion Counseling Ministry. It's been ten years since then. We started with the "Diploma in Helping Oneself and Helping Others of Companion Counselling" and then expanded with the "Advanced Diploma in Christian Counselling" and the "Master of Arts in Christian Counselling." In 2017 we established the "Companion LeShalom Centre (CLC)" and launched the "Help Yourself and Others – Foundation Certificate in Companion Counselling" program. Throughout this journey, we've faced challenges, we’ve shed tears, but we've also experienced the grace of God. This journey has truly been a manifestation of God’s amazing grace.

“……I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision ……
To this day I have had help from God, and so I stand here…...”
(Acts 26:19-22)

As we entered 2024, we were again reminded of the urgent need for "Train the Trainers" programs. We successfully applied for and received funding from the "Lund Mission Society" (Sweden) fund. This funding provides us with the resources to train facilitators and instructors. Part of the tuition fees charged will be used to inspire more individuals to acquire advanced skills, continuing the mission of serving others, and together positively impact the community.

I am grateful we have now 12 new students majoring in counselling this Fall semester at LTS. Together with the current counselling students, there are over 80 students. More and more people are willing to practise the Biblical teaching to "love the Lord and love others," so working together to learn to be Christians who love the Lord, love themselves, and love others so as to glorify God and benefit others!

After attending two retreat camps in Melbourne, Australia, from July 23rd to August 4th, I sought God’s direction for the next milestone. I reflected on the challenges in society and other recent developments, and I felt a growing sense of purpose. I came to realize that companion Counseling programs are not just about counselling training but also about shaping the heart of a disciple. We will also strive to implement the vision of "Discipleship Heart Formation," integrating "Bible," "Spiritual Practice," and "Counselling" so as to inspire a new discipleship journey for more Companion Counsellors.
Theme: Cultivate the Heart, Pass It On
Date: 1st Nov, 2024
Time: 7:30-9:30

On November 1st of this year, "CLC" will celebrate its seventh anniversary. The number "seven" symbolizing perfection holds special significance in the Bible. Over the past seven years, CLC has served approximately 15,000 people, positively impacting their lives and providing training for many professional counsellors and Companion counsellors. To commemorate this milestone and to uphold our mission, CLC will celebrate the "Seventh Anniversary Thanksgiving Service of the CLC and the Launching Ceremony of the Train the Trainers" on November 1st this year. We warmly invite all of you to join us and to express gratitude for the Lord’s blessings.

In the second half of this year, CLC will continue to nurture the heart through a public talk “Walking Together: Refreshing my Heart” supported by NMS, as well as various training programs, membership activities, and workshops. We will also host a retreat camp in collaboration with "New Day Break." This camp will guide participants through healing and transformation using "Clay Meditation" and the creation of holy communion cups and plates.

Finally, we sincerely invite everyone to remember in prayer:
1. May the Lord move willing individuals to join the "Train the Trainers" training and to fill their hearts with love and kindness.
2. May the Lord grant health, wisdom, and strength to all the instructors of each course.
3. May the Lord provide sufficient funds for the CLC to sustain its ministry of nurturing life in communities and churches.
4. May the Lord bring suitable full-time staff to join the CLC team, enabling various ministries to be practised and developed more effectively.
5. May the Lord strengthen counseling graduates and those who are currently receiving counselling training. May their bodies, minds, and souls be strong and healthy, and may their faith, love, and hope grow daily. May they walk with the Lord, themselves, and others, and serve the community towards developing a wholeness of life.

You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well.
(2 Tim 2: 1-2)
